Microsoft Redmond Interoperability Protocols Plugfest 2014

Zentyal, developer of open source server technology natively interoperable with Microsoft® server products, is glad to announce that it will join the Redmond Interoperability Plugfest 2014 that will take place in the Microsoft’s Redmond Campus from the 16th to the 20th of June, 2014. During the event Julien Kerihuel, CTO of Zentyal and Founder of the OpenChange project, will deliver a talk on the automated Microsoft Outlook® testing suite that has been developed within the OpenChange project.

Besides Microsoft, Zentyal is the only vendor to offer server products that are natively compatible with Exchange and Outlook. This event offers an unique opportunity to test our protocol implementation with the latest versions of Microsoft’s internal testing tools and discuss Exchange interoperability topics directly with Microsoft Exchange engineering team” said Julien Kerihuel, CTO of Zentyal and Founder of the OpenChange project. “In short, it will allow us to deliver interoperable stable products faster and with more features.

The Protocol Plugfests organized by Microsoft® offer software developers the chance to learn more about the Microsoft® protocols, to test their implementations with internal protocol test suites with Microsoft® engineers and to evaluate the degree of interoperability of their software. These events aim at creating an ecosystem dedicated to shipping interoperable systems by offering a space where vendors and open source communities can work closely together. The Redmond Interoperability Plugfest 2014 agenda will focus on Windows® File Sharing, SharePoint®, Microsoft Exchange® and SQL Server® protocols.

Looking forward to meet Julien next week. We’re very glad to see the Engineering collaboration going on and a vibrant ecosystem around Microsoft’s technologies for the Enterprise – particularly from open source projects. I would love to understand more where Zentyal’s going and explore joint interest areas. I’ll be attending some sessions next week but would love to get in touch with Julien and team moving forward.
