Zentyal 4.0 Roadmap Published!

Zentyal Development Team is glad to announce the roadmap for Zentyal Server 4.0! Zentyal 4.0 is a new Community Edition, that will be published in October 2014 and with this release Zentyal’s drop-in replacement for Microsoft® Exchange Server gets out of technology preview! Due to this, most of the development effort of the next months will focus on stabilization and improvement of the mail and mail-related directory features. Simultaneously, large effort will be put in establishing the necessary Quality Assurance procedures to guarantee the stability of Zentyal Server. The code freeze is expected on September 15th, 2014.

Zentyal Server aims at offering small and medium businesses (SMBs) a native drop-in replacement for Windows® Small Business Server and Microsoft® Exchange Server, that can be set up in less than 30 minutes and is both easy-to-use and affordable.

Zentyal, developer of server technology natively interoperable with Microsoft® server products, is glad to announce that the “Zentyal for Network Administrators” book is now available through Lulu, making it possible to offer the manual with a reduced price and also as an eBook. More importantly, from now on all the profits generated by the book sales are donated in full by Zentyal to the OpenChange open source project. OpenChange is a portable open source implementation of Microsoft® Exchange Server and Exchange protocols, that allows Zentyal to deliver server products that offer a native drop-in replacement for Microsoft® Exchange Server.

Zentyal, developer of open source server technology natively interoperable with Microsoft® server products, is glad to announce that it will join the Redmond Interoperability Plugfest 2014 that will take place in the Microsoft’s Redmond Campus from the 16th to the 20th of June, 2014. During the event Julien Kerihuel, CTO of Zentyal and Founder of the OpenChange project, will deliver a talk on the automated Microsoft Outlook® testing suite that has been developed within the OpenChange project.

Zentyal Development Team is glad to announce the roadmap for Zentyal 3.5! Zentyal 3.5 is a new Community Edition that will be published on the 17th of June, 2014. This release will run on Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS and it will focus specially on offering improved Microsoft Active Directory® and Microsoft® Exchange Server replacement. The code freeze is expected on May 16th.
